Medical Staff

Dr. Stephen C. Verral has been practicing dermatology in Glens Falls, NY for almost 10 years. He is married and has two boys who keep him busy traveling to musical performances and multiple sporting events. Dr. Verral was born and raised in Michigan and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. Go Blue! He received a Master in Public Health degree from the University of Illinois and graduated with his medical degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his specialty training in Dermatology in association with Michigan State University and Oakwood Southshore Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology. He is a member of numerous professional societies and lectures both locally and nationally. A licensed physician in New York and Michigan, Dr. Verral is board certified in dermatology and specializes in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Dr. Derek Richardson has been practicing in Glens Falls, NY for over 30 years. He is married with 5 children and 3 grandchildren. After years of us asking, he joined Gateway Dermatology, P.C. in 2015. He brings years of experience and expertise to our excellent medical team. Derek Richardson graduated with his Bachelor of Science from Yale University. He received his medical degree from St. Louis Univeristy in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his specialty training in Dermatology at Albany Medical Center. He is a member of numerous professional societies. A licensed physician in New York, Dr. Richardson is board certified in dermatology and specializes in general and surgical dermatology. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology.

Kelly Reed is a Certified Physician Assistant who has been specializing in Dermatology for over 12 years. She is married with two children and grew up in the Glens Falls area. She has been practicing at Gateway Dermatology since 2008. Since joining our team, she has been an asset bringing years of experience in dermatology. Prior to becoming a physician assistant Mrs. Reed was a Registered Nurse for 12 years. Kelly graduated from Albany Hudson Valley Physician Assistant program and holds an AAS degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Hudson Valley Community College and a Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Albany Medical College. She also holds a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University with a focus in education and leadership. Kelly is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She is recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology as a DermCare Team member.

Eric Gold has been practicing as a physician assistant for 14 years. He is married to a nurse and has three children that keep their parents on the go with travel and sports (especially baseball-one of Eric’s true loves!), orchestra and other various activities. Eric is from Schenectady and has been living in the Saratoga area for the past 12 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Tusculum College, in Tennessee, and later completed The Albany Medical College Physician Assistant Program. Eric is a member of the The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and The American Academy of Physician Assistants. Mr. Gold is a DermCare Team member through the American Academy of Dermatology.

Brittany Buza is a Certified Physician Assistant who has been practicing in the dermatology specialty since 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. After completing two years of clinical hours in plastic surgery as a medical assistant, she went on to complete her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. While performing clinical rotations in various specialties in the Utica, NY area, she discovered her passion for the dermatology specialty. Brittany enjoys all aspects of dermatology including medical, surgical and cosmetic procedures. Brittany is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their mini-Aussie pup Winnie.

Liz Rogan is a Certified Physician Assistant who has been practicing since 2018. She is a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and still lives in the area. She received her Bachelor's degree in science at Siena College in Loudonville, NY in 2016 and was a goalkeeper on the women's soccer team. Liz completed her Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2018. She is a member of The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and The American Academy of Physician Assistants. Liz and her boyfriend, Kyle, enjoy live sports, music and spending time with family and friends.

Alex Nelson is a highly skilled and compassionate board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, known for his dedication to providing exemplary healthcare services to individuals and families. Alex graduated from St. John Fisher University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2022, he graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, earning a Master's degree in nursing. Alex went on to achieve certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), solidifying his expertise in care for patients of all ages. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Alex served as a Registered Nurse caring for both pediatric and adult cancer patients at Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester, as well as at the C.R. Wood Cancer center at Glens Falls Hospital. Upon becoming a nurse practitioner, he served as a primary care provider in family medicine with St. Peter's Health Partners in Saratoga Springs. Here, he gained skills in diagnosing and treating a diverse range of medical conditions. Alex is now joining the Gateway Dermatology team where he can leverage his clinical acumen and compassionate approach to address various dermatological concerns.
